About the Chefs
Chef Christina Lonewolf
Monterey peninsula based chef , Christina Lonewolf has been honoring her skills and indigenous heritage since her early days as a chef apprentice at Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur. Lonewolf has a way of fusing the modern standard of fine cuisine with the ancestral ways her ancestors prepared food. Sourcing ingredients locally, showcasing the incredible bounty available on the central coast.
She creates magic from ingredients not often honored in today’s world , from acorn fry bread to bay laurel desserts, she has transformed what it means to eat “locally” on the central coast . Chef Lonewolf has lead important tribal events such as becoming head chef of the local Essalen tribes harvest festival for years 22’ 23’, as well as Carmel culinary week 25’ 26’ and helping with grand openings of local restaurants “Stokes Adobe “ and “Cella”, Chef Lonewolf is a Pillar in the community, offering a cultural perspective crucial to uplifting indigenous cuisine and stories. Her legacy as a Chef will always be deeply rooted in her love for her culture , ancestors and the land we call home.
Nico Alfaro
Nico Alfaro is a long time coffee nerd combining a passion for outdoor education and specialty coffee. After a short stint learning the ropes on the espresso bar at local Captain+Stoker and years working as an outdoor guide, he is now pursuing his dream of bringing a bouldering gym and coffee shop to Salinas, alongside his wife and daughter. Colores Climbing + Coffee is committed to building a space to connect and climb, for the whole family. The menu is intentionally simple, built around quality ingredients, letting the coffee shine, and doing it all con cultura.
